King Charles was recently hospitalized due to side effects from his ongoing cancer treatment, and—not only did the Palace fail to inform Prince Harry—apparently he hasn’t been made aware of his father’s prognosis.
The Sun’s royal correspondent Sarah Hewson says, “Harry only found out about his father’s recent visit to hospital through the media,” and “he doesn't know what his father’s prognosis is.”
As a reminder, Harry was JUST in England for his ongoing legal battle regarding security in the UK and didn’t see his dad. In fact, he and Charles reportedly haven’t spoken in months because the King doesn’t want to be seen as “intervening” in his case.
“There is absolutely no way that the King could be seen to be intervening in this at all,” Hewson explains. “Even any innocuous comment that could have been interpreted in a way and find its way into evidence in the court by Prince Harry’s barrister. The King can’t have conversations with him. And we’re learning that the distance between them is perhaps greater than ever.”
Fellow royal correspondent Cameron Walker adds, “The King sees it really as his duty as head of state that he should not get involved with the judicial system. And I think he may well have been advised that he probably shouldn’t take his son’s calls in case this court case is brought up, in case he’s forced to say something to Prince Harry.”
I mean...yikes.
